Living In a Pandemic
It’s been a dreadfully long year
Cause we’ve been living in grief
And in constant fear
Which, by any measure, has not been brief.
It feels eerily dark
Even when there is light
Fear of the virus’ bark
Has become our daily plight.
When will the invisible enemy strike?
Constantly lurking in our mind
It’s a feeling to dislike
Keeping us entwined.
Imprisoned at home
With little or no choice
No freedom to roam
Or to rejoice.
Now the clouds seem to be parting
Raising our hopes anew
Of our grief and sorrow departing
Normal life is long overdue.
If we band together
We can kill this parasite
We can brighten the weather
With our collective might.
